Maker: Giuseppe Pellacani
Story: Giuseppe Pellacani was a 20th century Italian violin maker from Modena, recognized for his precise craftsmanship and distinctive tonal qualities. After studying under Nicolò Bianchi in Nice and Enzo Arassi in Milan, Pellacani crafted around 295 violins, violas, and cellos. His violins, often based on the Guarneri model, are particularly valued for their powerful, resonant sound and meticulous attention to detail.
Tone and Character: The Giuseppe Pellacani Op. 112 violin produces a warm, sweet tone, with a focused core that remains both clear and rich throughout its entire range. Its balance is exceptional, flowing effortlessly from the deep, resonant warmth of the bass to the shimmering lustre of the E string. The sound is round and multifaceted, with harmonic depth that imbues it with both richness and dimension. Elegant power and projection enhances the complexity of tone across the length of the fingerboard. Capable of effortlessly transitioning between darker, more velvety tones and brighter, more vibrant colors, this violin showcases remarkable versatility, allowing for precise expression and delivering a strikingly clear, full projection.
Overview: The Giuseppe Pellacani Op. 112 violin is an elegant example of precision Italian craftsmanship. The amber honey-colored varnish beautifully highlights the tight, holographic flaming of the maple back and fine grain of the spruce top. Sophisticated lines and refined corners frame skillful purfling, creating the perfect visual complement to the violin’s polished and complex tone. This instrument will perform exceptionally well in a variety of professional settings.
