Deep rich sound. Very resonant in the low end.
Lawrence LaMay studied making in Indianapolis and Chicago. Worked in San Antonio, TX, then established own shop in Madison, WI, c. 1959. Made about 200 instruments of various grades of quality, including double basses. Stamped bows, 'L. Lamay', just past the winding.
