The Shen SB800 5/8 is a fully carved bass built with quality materials and traditional construction. Designed in a 5/8 size, it offers slightly smaller proportions while maintaining professional craftsmanship.
This model features a fully carved spruce top paired with a fully carved maple back and ribs. The SB800 is distinguished within the Shen lineup by its highly flamed maple, giving the instrument a striking visual presence. It includes inlaid purfling and is finished with a hand-applied oil varnish.
The bass has a 39.75" string length and a 42 3/8" body length, offering comfortable dimensions for players who prefer a slightly more compact instrument.
The neck is shaped in a maple D profile and fitted with an ebony fingerboard for durability and smooth playability. It is equipped with Suzhou individual tuning machines for precise adjustment. An ebony Hill-style tailpiece complements the setup.
Included is a Shen composite endpin with a 10mm rod and replaceable screw-on tip.
