Alison Heydt

I have been a member of The Florida Orchestra since 1992, and I have been teaching since my undergraduate days. My two Viola Performance degrees are from Oberlin Conservatory (BM) and the Cleveland Institute of Music (MM). I have had students regularly travel to me from as far away as Brandon, North Tampa and various parts of Sarasota in order to study with me (all were long-term students). The age range of my studio is from 11 to 80+, and every age in-between. I have had Suzuki Teacher Training (I was also a Suzuki student myself). Some of my students have gone on to thriving careers in music, but I am not intent on turning every student into a professional musician. Each student is an individual, and my goals are to help my students progress efficiently and easily, to allow them to learn at their own rate, to help them remain injury-free, to help them be excellent ensemble players, and to help them love the process of learning to play. All ages welcomed.**PLEASE NOTE: my studio is temporarily closed to new students. I will update this page promptly when I am able to take new students again.
