Description
**PLEASE NOTE: my studio is temporarily closed to new students. I will update this page promptly when I am able to take new students again.
I joined The Florida Orchestra in 1992, and I have been teaching since my undergraduate days at Oberlin. My two Viola Performance degrees are from Oberlin Conservatory (BM) and the Cleveland Institute of Music (MM). I have had students regularly travel to me from as far away as Brandon, North Tampa and various parts of Sarasota. I accept students from age 11 to 80+, and I've have had quite a few adult beginners and students who were past retirement age. I have had Suzuki Teacher Training and I was a Suzuki student myself. Some of my students have gone on to thriving careers in music, but I am not intent on turning every student into a professional musician. Each student is an individual, and my goals are to help my students progress efficiently and easily, to allow them to learn at their own rate, to help them remain injury-free, to help them be excellent ensemble players, and to help them love the process of learning to play.
