Hi. My name is Cynthia Wiley, owner SVA, violinist and violin teacher. When I first went to Southern Methodist University to study Violin Performance, I didn’t know that a love of teaching was sure to follow. While in college, I began teaching a few private students. I enjoyed private teaching and began to also teach in different venues: school classroom, teaching/conducting, and University teaching as a Professor of Violin. I discovered that I enjoyed all aspects of teaching! I realized that I not only had a passion to perform music, but I also had a passion to share, inspire and expand a student’s interest in music through violin and piano. and teach students!
What do I love about teaching violin lessons and piano lessons? I have taught for almost 30 years and I enjoy every minute of it. The students: School age and Adult, are all individuals. I realized early on that what works for one student, may not work for another. I work very hard to determine and connect with each student’s learning style so they can achieve each technique or musical idea. I have had great success working with students of all ages, ranging from age five to adults.
Quality instruction and a love for music from a teacher that will encourage, inspire and expand their love of music through violin and piano lessons.
I have a Bachelor and Master’s Degree from Southern Methodist University in Violin Performance.
